This blog is semi-closed: anyone can read, but only invited guests can write. To participate in summer homework in 2013, you must send AFletcher an email requesting an invitation. At the meeting, I asked you to read the assignment on the blog so you could see what you were getting into before signing up; if you decide to participate, get the invitation so you can write.

AF: Make Good Art

I posted a Neil Gaiman video earlier today, but it was embedded in a blog post that I later found to be a little crabby, so I deleted it.

Here's the video.   Pay special attention when Gaiman explains the "two out of three" rule (14:00 ish).

This is not crabby; this is just a fact:  some of the work I received this week reveals a quality of thought and expression that is far below what is required by this class.

The assignment calls for "successful completion" of summer homework, so if you earned a D, I am putting you a contract, and if you earned an F, I'm dropping you.  Those of you who did not come to the blog until the last week or not at all, beware.  You are standing in a hole.
